Door Number One?

"What's on the other side of the door?"
That is the question we often ask when trying to discern where God is calling us. We look at different options, weighing the pros and cons of each. Most would consider this a wise approach. They would perhaps even call it discernment. However, we must remember that discerning who is opening the door is far more important than evaluating what may be on the other side. No matter what the job, person, ministry, or school we choose may be; we will only experience God's peace if we go through the doors he opens for us.
I believe there are times when our Father is waiting at more than one door, and he will be with us regardless of our choice. However, there are also times when God opens a door in our lives and tells us to go through it whether we like it or not. This happened to Jonah when God opened a door and called him to go to Ninevah. When we are faced with these types of situations we can't focus on what might be in store for us on the other side. We must focus on who is turning the handle.
