Professor Ruth Veltkam Kick-starts the LEMA On-Site Training

Students at the LEMA Institute will attend their first face to face training with Professor Ruth Veltkamp:

Thursday February 16 – Friday, February 17, 2017

Two courses will be offered:

Missions and Discipleship.

During these classes, the pastors will grow in their knowledge of how to share our faith and how to disciple believers as well as create opportunities for them to ask questions and learn from each other in an interactive study.

Ruth Veltkamp holds a Master’s Degree in English from Michigan State University and another Master’s Degree in Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary. She was a full-time missionary in West Africa for 44 years, teaching in various contexts: secondary school, vernacular Bible schools, theological education by extension, and informal education with nomadic herdsmen and with Muslim religious leaders.

She has made disciples and trained many in praying for, living with and sharing the Gospel with Muslims. For sixteen years she taught cross-cultural missions courses at West Africa Theological Seminary in Nigeria, also mentoring students for missions involvement. She has authored Taking the Gospel to Muslims and co-authored Overcoming the Enemy with Grace Holland, both textbooks published by Evangel Publishing House in Kenya.

Since 2013, Ruth has spent most of her time in the United States, teaching and mentoring for missions involvement, including the strategic work of forgiveness. She also travels back to Africa to teach courses and seminars as invited.
